Inspirational stories

Everyone is welcome here to read stories of  life changing moments, something to make you believe in yourself again, to kindle hope, to make you do good. New stories added weekly.

You can submit your story. We will publish select stories here and partner publishers with your name. Please mention name, designation, company name and city. Send real or fiction stories of life changing events, moral learnings, acts of kindness to spread happiness around.

Send your story to your mentor to get published and inspire everyone.

This is a great analogy:
You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere.
The question is
‘Why did you spill the coffee?’
“Well because someone bumped into me, of course!”
Wrong answer.
You spilled the coffee because it was coffee in the cup.
If there had been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea.
Whatever is inside the cup is what will come out.
Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which will happen for sure), whatever is inside you will come out.
It’s easy to fake it, until you get rattled.
So we have to ask ourselves…what’s in my cup?
When life gets tough, what spills over?
Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility?
Or anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions?
You choose!

Today let’s work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation to yourself and others, kindness, gentleness and love.
Wishing you more and more Positivity in your cup

May be a repeat for you, it is for me but every time I read this story it gets me all teary.

An eye witness account from New York City , on a cold day in December.

A little boy, about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the road, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering
with cold.

A lady approached the young boy and said: ‘My, but you’re in such deep thought staring in that window!’
The boy replied:’I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes.’

The lady took him by the hand, went into the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy.
She then asked if he could give her a basin of water and a towel.
He quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed his little feet, and dried them with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had returned with the socks.
Placing a pair upon the boy’s feet, she purchased him a pair of shoes.

She tied up the remaining pairs of socks and gave them to him. She patted him on the head and said, ‘No doubt, you will be more comfortable now’

As she turned to go, the astonished kid caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears
in his eyes, asked her:

‘Are you God’s wife?’

Someone asked Bill Gates, Is there any person richer than you?

He said, yes, only one. Many years ago, I had been dismissed and I had gone to New York airport. I read titles of newspapers there. I liked one of them and I want to buy it. But I didn’t have change (coin). So abandoned the idea, suddenly, a black boy called me and told me, “This newspaper for you.” I said, but I don’t have change. He said, “No problem, I give you free”.

After 3 months, I went there. Coincidentally, that story happened again and that same boy gave me another free newspaper again. I said, I can’t accept it. But he said, “I give you from my profit.”

After 19 years, I had been rich and I decided to find that boy. I found him after one and half month’s search. I asked him, do you know me? He said, “Yes, you’re famous Bill Gates.”

I said, you gave me free newspaper 2 times many years ago. Now, I want to compensate it. I am going to give you everything that you want. Black young man replied, “You can’t compensate it!”
I said, why? He said, “Because I gave you when I was poor. You want to give me when you are rich. So, how do you compensate?”

Bill Gates said, I think that black young man is richer than me.

You don’t have to be rich or wait to be rich to give

Real attitude of giving is when you lack

I attended a Party with a gathering of about 30 people and sat in the front row.

A Lady started distributing snacks from the back and unfortunately, it didn’t get to us sitting at the front.
Another Lady started handing out  Drinks, from the front. But by then I had already moved to the Back. So the drink didn’t get to me.

I was irritated and stood up to  leave.
But then I saw three ladies each with A Big Bowl of vegetable Manchurian dry. This time, I tried to be Wise by sitting at the Middle. One of the Ladies started the sharing from the Front, and the second Lady started distributing from the back. When they got to the middle where I was seated, it got over again!
Feeling frustrated, I bent my head, putting my Face in My Hands.

But then the third Lady tapped me and held out her Bowl.
I stretched out my Hand and guess what was in the Bowl?

Toothpicks !!!

Moral:
Don’t try to Position yourself in Life. If you r doing your best then good things will come to you automatically, sooner or later.

Otherwise You will Wrongfully position Yourself For Toothpicks Only!!!!

A man was asked to paint a boat.
He brought with him paint and brushes and began to paint the boat a bright red, as the owner asked him.

While painting, he noticed that there was a small hole in the hull, and quietly repaired it.

When finished painting, he received his money and left.

The next day, the owner of the boat came to the painter and presented him with a nice cheque, much higher than the payment for painting.

The painter was surprised and said “You’ve already paid me for painting the boat Sir!”

“But this is not for the paint job. It’s for having repaired the hole in the boat.”
“Ah! But it was such a small service… certainly it’s not worth paying me such a high amount for something so insignificant.”

“My dear friend, you do not understand. Let me tell you what happened.

When I asked you to paint the boat, I forgot to mention about the hole.
When the boat dried, my kids took the boat and went on a fishing trip.
They did not know that there was a hole. I was not at home at that time.

When I returned and noticed they had taken the boat, I was desperate because I remembered that the boat had a hole.

Imagine my relief and joy when I saw them returning from fishing.

Then, I examined the boat and found that you had repaired the hole! You see, now, what you did? You saved the life of my children! I do not have enough money to pay your ‘small’ good deed.”

Moral:
No matter who, when or how. Just continue to help, sustain, wipe tears, listen attentively and carefully repair all the ‘leaks’ you find, because you never know when one is in need of us or when God holds a pleasant surprise for us to be helpful and important to someone_.

You may have repaired numerous ‘boat holes’ along the way of several people without realizing how many lives you’ve saved.

So Keep up Good work

A beautiful true story

In England in 1920 there was a graduation ceremony for a batch of new doctors.
It was attended by the British Prime Minister of that time.
During the ceremony, the head doctor who was in charge of that batch, gave the necessary advice to these new graduates.
He told them the following incident which happened with him sometimes back:
“It was after midnight, and I heard a knock on my door.
It was an old lady, and she said to me: ‘O my doctor, my child is sick and in a very serious condition, so please do something to save him.

I rushed out to follow her to her house without worrying what will happen.
Because it was a stormy night, and very cold. The rain was pouring down very heavily. I did not fear for my life.

Her house was on the outskirts of London, and after a difficult journey, we reached her house.
She lived in a small room with her son.
When I entered the room, I saw her son at the corner of this room groaning and deeply in pain.

After I did my duty towards the sick child, the mother gave me a small bag with money.
I refused to take this bag and I told her gently that I can’t accept that payment, because I felt sorry for their situation.
Then I promised her that I will take care of her child until he gets better.”
The head doctor continued in his speech by saying: “This is the true profession of medicine, and being a doctor is the closest profession to mercy and one of the closest to God”

As soon as the head doctor finished his speech, the Prime Minister jumped out of his seat and headed to the podium.
“Permit me Sir, to kiss your hand.
For twenty years now and I am looking for you. I am the child you mentioned in your story just now.
Oh, my mother will be happy now and she will rest in peace. Her only wish was for me to find you and to reward you, for that goodness you did for us at the time we were living in poverty.”

That poor child who became the Prime Minister of England was:
“Lloyd George”

Plant goodness wherever you go, even if it is not on your place. Because it will never get lost wherever you will plant it.
It is even more nice if your goodness lasts longer.
Because no one shall harvest that goodness except the one who has planted it.

Doing goodness to others will always purify your heart, and it will fight any kind of evil which comes your way.

The owner of goodness does not fall, if he falls he will fall on a pillow to comfort and support him.

May God Make us among the people who always do good to others.

A real story… A conversation between a passenger and Software Engineer in Shatabdi Train. If you read it till the end, you will not only thank me and the person who shared this with me, but you will see life in a whole different way!

Vivek Pradhan was not a happy man.. Even the plush comfort of the Air-conditioned compartment of the Shatabdi express could not cool his frayed nerves. He was the Project Manager and was still not entitled to Air travel. It was not the prestige he sought, he had tried to reason with the admin person, it was the savings in time. As PM, he had so many things to do!!
He opened his case and took out the laptop, determined to put the time to some good use.
‘Are you from the software industry sir,’ the man beside him was staring appreciatively at the laptop. Vivek glanced briefly and mumbled in affirmation, handling the laptop now with exaggerated care and importance as if it were an expensive car.
‘You people have brought so much advancement to the country, Sir. Today everything is getting computerized. ‘

‘Thanks,’ smiled Vivek, turning around to give the man a look. He always found it difficult to resist appreciation. The man was young and stockily built like a sportsman… .. He looked simple and strangely out of place in that little lap of luxury like a small town boy in a prep school. He probably was a railway sportsman making the most of his free traveling pass.

‘You people always amaze me,’ the man continued, ‘You sit in an office and write something on a computer and it does so many big things outside.’

Vivek smiled deprecatingly. Naiveness demanded reasoning not anger. ‘It is not as simple as that my friend. It is not just a question of writing a few lines. There is a lot of process that goes behind it.’

For a moment, he was tempted to explain the entire Software Development Life cycle but restrained himself to a single statement. ‘It is complex, very complex.’

‘It has to be. No wonder you people are so highly paid,’ came the reply.

This was not turning out as Vivek had thought. A hint of belligerence crept into his so far affable, persuasive tone.

‘Everyone just sees the money. No one sees the amount of hard work we have to put in. Indians have such a narrow concept of hard work. Just because we sit in an air-conditioned office, does not mean our brows do not sweat. You exercise the muscle; we exercise the mind and believe me that is no less taxing.’

He could see, he had the man where he wanted, and it was time to drive home the point. ‘Let me give you an example. Take this train. The entire railway reservation system is computerized. You can book a train ticket between any two stations from any of the hundreds of computerized booking centers across the country. Thousands of transactions accessing a single database, at a time concurrently; data integrity, locking, data security. Do you Understand the complexity in designing and coding such a system?’

The man was awestruck; quite like a child at a planetarium. This was something big and beyond his imagination. ‘You design and code such things.’

‘I used to,’ Vivek paused for effect, ‘but now I am the Project Manager.’

‘Oh!’ sighed the man, as if the storm had passed over, ‘so your life is easy now.’

This was like the last straw for Vivek. He retorted, ‘Oh come on, does life ever get easy as you go up the ladder. Responsibility only brings more work. Design and coding! That is the easier part. Now I do not do it, but I am responsible for it and believe me, that is far more stressful. My job is to get the work done in time and with the highest quality’.

He continued, ‘To tell you about the pressures, there is the customer at one end, always changing his requirements, the user at the other wanting something else, and your boss, always expecting you to have finished it yesterday.’

Vivek paused in his diatribe, his belligerence fading with Self-realization. What he had said, was not merely the outburst of a wronged man, it was the truth. And one need not get angry while defending the truth.

My friend,’ he concluded triumphantly, ‘you don’t know what it is to be in the Line of Fire’.
The man sat back in his chair, his eyes closed as if in realization.

When he spoke after sometime, it was with a calm certainty that surprised Vivek.
‘I know sir,….. I know what it is to be in the Line of Fire……’
He was staring blankly, as if no passenger, no train existed, just a vast expanse of time.
‘There were 30 of us when we were ordered to capture Point 4875 in the cover of the night. The enemy was firing from the top. There was no knowing where the next bullet was going to come from and for whom. In the morning when we finally hoisted the tri-colour at the top only 4 of us were alive.’

‘You are a…?’

‘I am Subedar Sushant from the 13 J&K Rifles on duty at Peak 4875 in Kargil. They tell me I have completed my term and can opt for a soft assignment. But, tell me sir, can one give up duty just because it makes life easier. On the dawn of that capture, one of my colleagues lay injured in the snow, open to enemy fire while we were hiding behind a bunker. It was my job to go and fetch that soldier to safety. But my captain sahib refused me permission and went ahead himself.
He said that the first pledge he had taken as a Gentleman Cadet was to put the safety and welfare of the nation foremost followed by the safety and welfare of the men he commanded… ….his own personal safety came last, always and every time.’

‘He was killed as he shielded and brought that injured soldier into the bunker. Every morning thereafter, as we stood guard, I could see him taking all those bullets, which were actually meant for me. I know sir….I know, what it is to be in the Line of Fire.’

Vivek looked at him in disbelief not sure of how to respond. Abruptly, he switched off the laptop. It seemed trivial, even insulting to edit a Word document in the presence of a man for whom valour and duty was a daily part of life; valour and sense of duty which he had so far attributed only to epic heroes.

The train slowed down as it pulled into the station, and Subedar Sushant picked up his bags to alight. ‘It was nice meeting you sir.’

Vivek fumbled with the handshake.

This hand… had climbed mountains, pressed the trigger, and hoisted the tri-colour. Suddenly, as if by impulse, he stood up at attention and his right hand went up in an impromptu salute….
It was the least he felt he could do for the country.

PS : The incident he narrated during the capture of Peak 4875 is a true-life incident during the Kargil war. Capt. Batra sacrificed his life while trying to save one of the men he commanded, as victory was within sight. For this and various other acts of bravery, he was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, the nation’s highest military award.

Live humbly, there are great people around us, let us learn!

EVERYONE U MEET IS FIGHTING A HARD BATTLE !

Author: Vivek from Infosys, Bangalore

Many hundreds of years ago in a small European town, a merchant had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to the moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the merchant’s beautiful daughter so he proposed a bargain. He said he would forgo the merchant’s debt if he could marry the daughter. Both the merchant and his daughter were horrified by the proposal.

The moneylender told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty bag. The girl would then have to pick one pebble from the bag.If she picked the black pebble, she would become the moneylender’s wife and her father’s debt would be forgiven. If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father’s debt would still be forgiven. But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the merchant’s garden. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick her pebble from the bag.

What would you have done if you were the girl? If you had to advise her, what would you have told her? Careful analysis would produce three possibilities:

1. The girl should refuse to take a pebble.

2. The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the moneylender as a cheat.

3. The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order to save her father from his debt and imprisonment.

The above story is used with the hope that it will make us appreciate the difference between lateral and logical thinking.

The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles.

“Oh, how clumsy of me,” she said. “But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked.” Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had picked the white one. And since the moneylender dared not admit his dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into an advantageous one.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Most complex problems do have a solution, sometimes we have to think about them in a different way.

“Out of the Box”… Thinking

This is a true story that happened in Japan…

In order to renovate the house, a Japanese man breaks open the wall. Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between the wooden walls.

When tearing down the walls, he found that there was a lizard stuck there, because a nail from outside had been hammered into one of its feet.

He sees this, feels pity, & at the same time curiousity. When he checks the nail, it was nailed 5 years ago, when the house was built!!!

What happened?

The lizard had survived in such a position for 5 yrs!!!
In a dark wall partition for 5 years without moving, it is impossible and mind-boggling.

Then he wondered how this lizard had survived for 5 years without moving a single inch, since its foot was impaled!

So he stopped his work and observed the lizard, to see what it has been doing, and how it has been eating

Later, not knowing from where it came, appears another lizard, with food in it’s mouth.

Ah! He was stunned and touched deeply.
For the lizard that was impaled by the nail, another lizard had been feeding it for the past 5 years.

Imagine? It has been doing that untiringly for 5 long years, without giving up hope on its partner.

Imagine what a small creature can do, that a creature blessed with a brilliant mind cannot do.
.
Please, never abandon your loved ones. Don’t turn your back on people because they are in difficulty. Don’t see yourself as more intelligent or the best. You may be a bit luckier today but life is uncertain and can change things tomorrow….

A moment of negligence might break the very heart which loved you against all odds..

Before you say something just remember…

It takes a moment to break, but an entire lifetime to make …………

The Lord created space within our fingers so that we can hold hands

Be there for somebody today.

Why not share this wonderful opportunities that has been presented and let’s grow together cause TOGETHER WE PROSPER!
Enjoy a blessed day in God’s presence

A story from an Indian epic

One day, after having eaten a filling lunch, Janak Raja fell asleep and dreamed he was a beggar who had gone without food for several days. Extremely hungry and thirsty, he desperately approached an old lady who had nothing to spare but a stale piece of bread. Though this was a pitiful meal, Janak became so excited that he decided to take the bread near the river and eat it with some water.

He searched for a tree to shelter himself from the heat, and was just about to eat when he saw two bulls approaching. They were involved in a frenzied fight and were grappling with their horns and kicking up dust into the air. Within moments, Janak Raja realized that they were coming straight towards him. Afraid for his life, the poor king dropped the water and bread and attempted to run for safety. As the two bulls were just about to trample him, Janak Raja suddenly awoke in a sweat. Once again, he was in his quiet, serene palace, with a full stomach and servants fanning him. He was then confronted with the question of what was real? Was he a beggar, as in the nightmare, or a king, as his present situation dictated?

With this question, Janak Raja assembled all of his advisors. All attempted to give an explanation, but Janak Raja was not satisfied with any of their answers. At that time, the great sage Ashtavakra entered the court.  Janak Raja then explained the situation of his dream and asked the sage which existence was real? Ashtavakra’s simple response impressed the whole assembly. He told Janak Raja, “When you tried to find out which existence was more real, did you consider that both are false? Your existence as a beggar was false and temporary, and so is your time as a king. When you go to Akshardham, you will know your time here as an eighty-year dream. At that time, you will wonder, what was the purpose of coming to earth, and how much of that was really accomplished?

How are we influenced by our habit?
Once a fishwife was a guest in the house of a gardener who raised flowers. She came there with her empty basket, after selling fish in the market, and was asked to sleep in a room where flowers were kept. But, because of the fragrance of the flowers, she couldn’t get to sleep for a long time.

Her hostess saw her condition and said, “Hello! Why are you tossing from side to side so restlessly?” The fishwife said: “I don’t know, friend. Perhaps the smell of the flowers has been disturbing my sleep.

Can you give me my fish-basket? Perhaps that will put me to sleep.”

The fish basket was brought to her.

She sprinkled water on it and set it near her nose. Then she fell sound asleep and snored all night.’

If you are demotivated because you are not getting good opportunities, then this story will motivate you.

It will rain only after 12 years

Once, Lord of Rains got upset with Farmers, he announced there will be no rain for 12 years and you won’t be able to produce crops.

Farmers begged for clemency from Rain Lord, who then said, Rain will be possible only if  Lord of Venus plays his Dizi, but he secretly requested the Lord of Venus not to play Dizi. When farmers reached Lord of Venus, he repeated the same thing that he will play Dizi after 12 years

Disappointed, the farmers decided to wait till 12 years but one farmer regularly was digging, treating & putting manure in the soil & sowing the seeds even with no crop emerging.

Other farmers were making fun of that farmer. After 3 years all farmers asked that Farmer “why are you wasting your time and energy when you know that rains will not come before 12 years”

He replied ” I know that crop won’t come out but I’m doing it as a matter of “practice”. After 12 years I will forget the process of growing crops and working in the field so I must keep it doing so that I’m fit to produce the crop, the moment there is rain after 12 years.

Lord of Venus overheard his argument and realised that He  Himself  may also lose the practice of playing Dizi after 12 years.
The innocent Lord of Venus in his anxiety just tried to play the Dizi, if he could. Hearing the sound of Dizi, immediately there was rain and the Farmer who was regularly working in the field got his crop emerged immediately and others were disappointed.

The game is won during the practice, not during the performance. If you are waiting for the good opportunity before you start practicing, then you have lost the race.

“Practice is boring but that’s what makes your performance interesting”

Practice Now – planning, discussing & asking for the Dream Biz u want to build.

You dont know when the Dizi is played and you get your  Rains

The Room With 1000 Mirrors

Short Story…Big Moral..!

A person asked a question a Monk,
“My workers are not true to me.
My children, my wife and the entire world is very selfish.
No body is correct.”

Monk smiled & told him a story…,
In one small village there was a room with 1000 mirrors.
One small girl used to go inside and play.!
Seeing thousands of children around her she was joyful.
She would clap her hands and all the 1000 children would clap back at her
She considered this place as the world’s happiest n beautiful place and would visit often.

This same place was once visited by a sad n a depressed person.
He saw around him thousands of angry men staring at him
He got scared and raised his hands to hit them and in return 1000 hands lifted to hit him back.
He thought… this is the worst place in the world and left that place.
This world is also a room with 1000 mirrors around you..
What we let out of us is what the universe will give back to us!!

“This world is a heaven. Or Hell..
It’s up to us what we make out of it…” said the Monk

Quarrels destroy mankind
A FARMER in ancient China had a neighbour who was a hunter, and who owned ferocious, but poorly trained hunting dogs.
They jumped over the fence frequently and chased the farmer’s lambs. The farmer asked his neighbour to keep his dogs in check, but this fell on deaf ears.
One day the dogs again jumped the fence, attacked and severely injured several of the lambs.

The farmer had enough of his neighbours negligence. He ‎went to town to consult a judge who listened carefully to the story and said: “I could punish the hunter and instruct him to keep his dogs chained or lock them up. But you would lose a friend and gain an enemy. Which would you rather have, friend or foe for a neighbour?” The farmer replied that he preferred a friend. “Alright, I will offer you a solution that keeps your lambs safe, and which will keep your neighbour as a friend.”
Having heard the judge’s solution, the farmer agreed. Once at home, the farmer immediately put the judge’s suggestions to the test.

He took three of his best lambs and presented them to his neighbour’s three small sons, who were overjoyed to receive such lovely pets and began to play with them.
To protect his sons newly acquired playthings, the hunter built a strong kennel for his dogs. Since then, the dogs never again bothered the farmer’s lambs.

Out of gratitude for the farmer’s generosity toward his sons, the hunter often shared the game he had hunted with the farmer.
The farmer reciprocated by sending the hunter, lamb meat and cheese he had made. Within a short time, the neighbours became good friends.

A saying in old China went something like this: “One can win over and influence people the best with gestures of kindness and compassion.”

There is another similar Western saying: “One catches more flies with honey than with vinegar.”

And: “Do you know what is better than charity and fasting and prayer? It is keeping peace and good relations between people, as quarrels and bad feelings destroy mankind.”

Kindness and compassion are signs of faith. Let us make it a part of us to be polite when we speak and not make rude remarks and bring people down with our words at every opportunity we get, especially with our families, friends and colleagues.

There is a very rich king, who is fond of various forms of arts such as painting, dance, music and plays. He always wants to explore his inner talent and see all the infinite possible things he can do to entertain himself.

So one day he joins a play / stage-show.

In this play, the king is playing the role of Beggar.

The beggar is a character, who is very very poor, and has very limited capacities to survive in the world. He is almost illiterate, and is living very difficult life.

The beggar has a wife who always fights with him and curses him for not being able to earn much for the family. She also scolds him for being a wrong life partner, and makes drama everyday for blaming her parents to marry her with the beggar.

The poor beggar has 10 kids, who are very naughty and do not listen to him at all. They always do what they want to do and create new troubles for the family.

The beggar has few childhood friends who did go to school and are now very very rich. One of those friends have become the mayor of the city and is living very luxurious life.

The beggar’s wife always shows him the difference of living they live and the one his friend has got. She curses him for not being able to do anything for a better life and bring some good money so that they can have all the luxuries of their life.

The beggar is trying his best to do anything that is possible but no one including his own friends are willing to help him. He is very helpless and crying days and nights, cursing the God for giving him such a life.

Frustrated, One day he decides to end his life, seeing no other option to bring any further goodness to his life and go on the top of the hill to commit suicide.

Just when he is about to jump, he sees a very peaceful, calm sadhu who is smiling at him with all love.

Surprised with his peaceful face, the beggar goes to the sadhu and tells him all his worries in hope to get a solution. He asks the sadhu, “Why he is having so many problems in life? is there any solution to his problems?”

The sadhu, with a smile, lifts his hand and points his finger in a direction, and says

“Go there, and you will find all solutions to your worries. “

The beggar asks him with doubt, “How can going to that direction will solve my all problems?”

The sadhu says “Because, once you reach there, you will remember who you are!”

The beggar becomes more confused, and says “But what is the connection of knowing who I am, to the problems I have got?

You are not understanding my problem. I am a very very poor beggar, who has no skills, with a huge family to feed, and no friends to help.

I want to know how I can get rich?

How I can have good relationships?

How can I excel in my life and career?

And you are saying that going into that direction will solve my problem?

By knowing who am I?

How is that possible even remotely?”

……

…………… by now, if you remember how we started this story, you know the answer.

If you do not remember, here is the ultimate truth!

When the beggar goes into the given direction, he will reach to the make-up room, where he will see the make-up related things. When he applies them on his face, his make-up will be removed one by one, and then one day in the mirror he will see his real face.

The beggar is not a real beggar, he is a King acting as Beggar, who forgot his reality.

What do you think will happen, after the beggar remembers that he is a real king with an unlimited treasure, and all that he was worried including the family, making a living and all, was part of a play?

Will he still cry, and curse his life? or he will laugh and go back to the stage, only to enjoy his role now?

The make-up room is Meditation.

The process is to undone the makeup.

The ultimate stage of meditation is Self Expression.

Meditation is Experience.

Experiencing who you really are.

The experience transcends one’s existence in a broader sense when the seeker starts reaching deeper and deeper states.

The most known is self-realization where the seeker realizes that the experience exists beyond the body and mind. This is where the seeker, in deeper stage, experiences the total existence of the universe. The experience of I Exist, and I exist beyond physical and mental worlds.

However, self-realization is a momentary experience which comes and goes. Unfortunately many seekers stop at this stage and declare themselves as ‘Guru’ and start preaching things.

The real progress happens when this experience is expanded into the experience of total existence, when one questions ‘who got realized?’. At this stage, the real experiencer starts experiencing own existence as totality, often defined as ‘consciousness’. To remain in this state is also called ‘awakening or self-stabilization’.

Then is a state of beyond consciousness and ignorance – awareness.

In this state, the experiencer leaves behind all the questions, doubts, knowledge and ignorance.

There is no knowledge of knowledge as well as ignorance, existence and non-existence.

This is beyond any definition.

However, if you relate with the analogy, the ultimate state is to enjoy playing the role, while being aware.

Once the king is aware that he is a king, playing the role of a beggar, he will act even better as a beggar. He will still cry, and his family will still curse him for not being able to feed them. But now, inside, he will be laughing at everything and enjoying it, as he remembers clearly that he is a real king. He will enjoy the play most, than anyone else, being aware.

This is the ultimate state – self-expression.

Enjoying the play with complete awareness of the reality.

The story is told of a woman who during the war went to live with her husband in camp on the Mojave Desert. She simply hated the place; the heat was almost unbearable, 45 degrees in the shade, the wind blew incessantly, and there was sand – sand everywhere.

Finally, in desperation she wrote her parents in Ohio that she couldn’t stand it another minute and was coming home.

Quickly came the reply by airmail from her father – just the two familiar lines:

“Two men looked out from prison bars… one saw the mud, the other saw stars.”

The daughter did some real thinking, not only with the intellect but also with her heart. She decided to stick to her post.

She made friends with the natives, learned to love the country, and eventually wrote a book about it.

The desert hadn’t changed, but her attitude had. Because she listened with her heart to the words her father sent, a whole New World opened up to her.

Loved this short story which made me think..

Zhao Zi Hao’s made it big in business so he spent money buying a piece of land in the suburbs and built a three-storey villa. He had an impressive swimming pool in the garden with a hundred-year-old Lychee Tree in the backyard to boot. In fact, he bought the property precisely because of this tree. His wife loved eating lychees.

During renovations, his friends urged him to get guidance from a fengshui master, just to tread on the side of caution. Zhao Zi Hao’s never quite believed in Fengshui yet surprisingly he took the advice to heart and went out of his way to engage a feng shui master from Hong Kong. The Grand Master was none other than Master Cao who’s been in the profession for over thirty years, renowned in the Fengshui circle. They had a meal in the city and then Zhao Zi Hao drove the Master to the suburbs. Along the way, when cars behind them tried to overtake, Zhao Zi Hao would simply give way.

The Master laughingly remarked: “Big Boss Zhao, your driving is really safe.” He spoke really fluent mandarin for a Hongkie.
Zhao Zhi Hao laughed at the remark: “Usually people who need to overtake have some urgent matter to attend to, so we shouldn’t hold them up.
Arriving at a small town the streets grew narrow and so Zhao Zi Hao slowed down.
A giggling child suddenly darted out from an alley and as the child ran across the street, Zhao still didn’t speed up. Instead, he kept his gaze on the alley, as if waiting for something. Out of the blue, another child darted out, chasing after the child ahead.
Master Cao was surprised and asked: “How did you know that there would be another child following suit?”
Zhao Zi Hao shrugged: “Well, kids are always chasing after each other so it’s impossible for a child to be in such glee without a playmate.”
Master Cao gave him a big thumbs up and laughed out loud: “That’s really considerate of you!”

Arriving at the Villa, they got down from the car. Suddenly about seven to eight birds flocked from the backyard. Seeing so, Zhao said to Master Cao: “ If you don’t mind please wait here for a little while.”
“What’s the matter?” Master Cao was taken aback.
“Oh, there’s probably some kids stealing lychees in the backyard. If we walk in now we might give them a fright, let’s not risk anyone falling off the old Lychee Tree.” Zhao replied humorously.

Master Cao stayed silent for a while before stating matter-of-factly: “This home doesn’t need a fengshui evaluation anymore.”
Now it’s Zhao’s turn to be shocked: “Why’s that?”
“Any place graced with your presence naturally becomes the property with the most auspicious fengshui.”

When our minds prioritize others’ peace and happiness, the one who benefits is not just others, but ourselves too.

When a person is considerate of others at all times, then this person has unconsciously accomplished Buddhahood (the exalted state of enlightenment).

The Buddha (enlightened one) is in fact a person who through benefiting others become enlightened.

The Pastor’s Cat and God’s sense of Humour

This particular story just made me laugh. Every time I think about it, the vision of that poor cat just amuses me to no end. Hope the story leaves a bright spot in your day. Whoever said the Creator doesn’t have a sense of humour?

Dwight Nelson recently told a true story about the pastor of his church. He had a kitten that climbed up a tree in his backyard and then was afraid to come down. The pastor coaxed, offered warm milk, etc.

The kitty would not come down. The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the pastor decided that if he tied a rope to his car and pulled it until the tree bent down, he could then reach up and get the kitten.

That’s what he did, all the while checking his progress in the car. He then figured if he went just a little bit further, the tree would be bent sufficiently for him to reach the kitten. But as he moved the car a little further forward, the rope broke.

The tree went ‘boing!’ and the kitten instantly sailed through the air – out of sight.

The pastor felt terrible. He walked all over the neighbourhood asking people if they’d seen a little kitten. No. Nobody had seen a stray kitten. So he prayed, ‘Lord, I just commit this kitten to your keeping,’ and went on about his business.

A few days later he was at the grocery store, and met one of his church members. He happened to look into her shopping cart and was amazed to see cat food. This woman was a cat hater and everyone knew it, so he asked her, ‘Why are you buying cat food when you hate
cats so much?’

She replied, ‘You won’t believe this,’ and then told him how her little girl had been begging her for a cat, but she kept refusing. Then a few days before, the child had begged again, so the Mom finally told her little girl, ‘Well, if God gives you a cat, I’ll let you keep it.’ She told the pastor, ‘I watched my child go out in the yard, get on her knees, and ask God for a cat. And really, Pastor, you won’t believe this, but I saw it with my own eyes. A kitten suddenly came flying out of the blue sky, with its paws outspread, and landed right in front of her.’

Never underestimate the Power of God and His unique sense of humour.

Anyone can count the seeds in an apple; but only God can count the apples in a seed.

GIVE ME A SENSE OF HUMOUR, GOD GIVE ME THE GRACE TO SEE A JOKE TO GET SOME HUMOUR OUT OF LIFE AND PASS IT ON TO OTHER FOLKS !

“Each Day is God’s Gift to you, make it blossom and grow into a Day of Beauty”

Viktor Frankl, one of the great psychiatrists of the twentieth century, survived the death camps of Nazi Germany.
His little book, Man’s Search for Meaning, is one of those life-changing books that everyone should read.
Frankl once told the story of a woman who called him in the middle of the night to calmly inform him she was about to commit suicide.
Frankl kept her on the phone and talked her through her depression, giving her reason after reason to carry on living.
Finally she promised she would not take her life, and she kept her word.
When they later met, Frankl asked which reason had persuaded her to live?
“None of them”, she told him.
What then influenced her to go on living, he pressed?
Her answer was simple, it was Frankl’s willingness to listen to her in the middle of the night.
A world in which there was someone ready to listen to another’s pain seemed to her a world in which it was worthwhile to live.
Often, it is not the brilliant argument that makes the difference.
Sometimes the small act of listening is the greatest gift we can give.

A worthy story for the stressed out people..

A SPLITTING HEADACHE

The proprietor of a coffee shop had been busy all day. Being Saturday, it was very crowded and the customers were just unending. He had been on his toes since morning.
Towards the evening he felt a splitting headache surfacing. As the clock ticked away, his headache worsened. Unable to bear it, he stepped out of the shop leaving his staff to look after the sales.

He walked across the street to the Chemist, to buy himself a painkiller to relieve his headache. He swallowed the pill and felt relieved. He knew that in a few minutes he would feel better.
As he strolled out of the shop, he casually asked the salesgirl, “Where is the Chemist? He’s not at the cash counter today!” The girl replied, “Sir, the Chemist had a splitting headache and said he was going across to the coffee shop. He said a cup of hot coffee would relieve him of his headache.”
The man’s mouth went dry and he mumbled, “Oh! I see.”

This is a typical case of looking outside ourselves for something that we have within us. How strange but true! The chemist relieves his headache by drinking coffee and the coffee shop owner finds relief in a pain relieving pill!

A man hunts across the lengths and breadths of the universe to find peace. Eventually he finds it in his heart and realizes that peace is really a state of mind.

Japanese Story

A 10-year-old boy decided to study judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident.

The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master.

The boy was doing well, so he couldn’t understand why, after three months of training the master had taught him only ONE MOVE.

Sensei = Teacher in Japanese

The boy then said,

“Shouldn’t I be learning more moves?”

“This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you’ll ever need to know,” the sensei replied.

Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training.

Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament.

Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches.

The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his ONE MOVE to win the match.

Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals.

This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced.

For a while, the boy appeared to be overmatched.

Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out.

He was about to stop the match when the sensei intervened.

“No,” the sensei insisted, “Let him continue.”

Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly,

the boy used his ONE MOVE to pin him.

The boy had won the match and the tournament.

He was the champion.

On the way home, the boy and sensei reviewed every move in each and every match.

Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his mind.

“Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only ONE MOVE?”

“You won for two reasons the sensei answered. “First, you’ve almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grab your left arm.”

The boy’s biggest weakness had become his biggest strength.

Moral of the Story

Sometimes we feel that we have certain weaknesses and we blame God, the circumstances or ourselves for it but we never know that our weaknesses can become our biggest strengths one day.
Each of us is special and important, so never think you have any weakness, never think of pride or pain, just live your life to its fullest and extract the best out of it!.

Lesson from Christiano Ronaldo.

When Christiano Ronaldo received one of his awards recently, Ronaldo dedicated it to a certain … Alberto Fantrau. Then said: “Yes I am a great footballer and all my success is thanks to my friend Alberto Fantrau”
People looked at each other and said, “Who is this Mr. Fantrau?”

Then Ronaldo went on: “We played together in a youth team. When Sporting of Lisbon recruiters came to observe us, they told us that the striker who scored the most goals will be recruited into the sports academy.

That day we won 3-0. I scored the first goal and then Alberto scored the 2nd with the head. And then the 3rd goal was the one that impressed everyone. Alberto started from the wing, then found himself face to face with the keeper, dribbled the goalkeeper and all he had to do was push the ball into the empty goal. In the meantime I was running to his side. And instead of shooting into the empty goal, Alberto decided to pass the ball to me and I scored. This is how I find myself at the Sporting Lisbon Academy. After the game I went to him, and asked him “why did you do that?” And he replied, “Because I know that you are better than I”

Curious to know more, the journalists began to investigate and were able to meet this Alberto Fantrau to ask him if the story told by Ronaldo is true, and he confirmed it, adding that his career as a footballer ended after this match as it was the only opportunity to become professional and since that time he has remained unemployed.

However, journalists, observing his luxurious house and his Mercedes parked in the garage asked Alberto “but being unemployed how could you have such a house and car and living so luxuriously? You seem rather comfortable physically ”
Alberto’s answer: “All that……..is because of Ronaldo”

Moral of the story:

Let us ask ourselves the following question: How many of us have ever done something like Ronaldo and Alberto? On the contrary, many of us show the opposite of this story showing selfishness and ingratitude to their mates.

Friends! Let’s help each other so that we are proud of the success of our brothers / sisters / friends / relatives.

And when we help a person succeed, the latter must never forget those who contributed to this success in his life.

“Three Precise Blows”
——————–
“”How can I know the best way to act in life?” the disciple asked the master.

The master asked him to build a table.

The disciple drove in the nails with three precise blows. One nail, however, struck a hard spot and the disciple needed to deliver one more blow – which drove in the nail too deep all the way into the wood.

“Your hand was used to three blows of the hammer,” said the master. “You had so much trust in what you did that you lost your attention and skill.”

“When action becomes a mere habit it loses its meaning and may end up causing harm, so never let routine be in command of your movements.””

“Guru and the Fur Coat”
——————–
“It was approaching the dead of winter when a spiritual teacher went walking through a deep mountain valley with three of his disciples. As it was very cold, the three students were worried about their teacher.

They didn’t want him to get sick, but none would speak up; all knew their teacher’s insistence on privacy when it came to people sticking their nose into his personal affairs. But finally one of them could hold his peace no longer and spoke out:

“Teacher, it’s not right that you don’t have proper protection from this weather.” And, gathering his courage, he went further.

“We all agree,” he said as he looked over at his fellow students for a sense of support, “we want you to have a beautiful coat to help keep you warm.”

The teacher understood the true nature of his students’ protestations, but he also wanted them to learn the higher lesson of the moment: while it’s good to have comforts, being without them is not important enough to despair over. Further, he wanted to show them the value of learning how to use whatever life supplies, or denies, them in the moment, but his brief words of instruction fell on deaf ears. Instead, his students insisted further:

“No, master, it’s not right. We appreciate your modesty and your humility, but really, you need a nice warm coat. If you don’t, you may catch your death of cold, and then what would become of us? Permit us to buy this for you, please?”

Continuing their conversation as they walked alongside a great river, all of a sudden they noticed a large fur coat floating downstream. One of the students exclaimed, “Look! It’s a miracle! The Almighty has heard our prayers! How great is our fortune!”

The next moment, at their urging, the teacher dived into the cold waters to retrieve the fur coat as it floated along with the current. Another minute went by and the students were in shock: their teacher was being swept down the river along with the coat. But that wasn’t all; it was obvious their teacher was in a great struggle of some kind. One by one they cried out, “Are you all right? What’s wrong! Let go of the coat – you’ll drown if you don’t let it go!”

And from the distance they heard their teacher yell back to them, “I want to let go, but it’s not a coat! It’s a black bear… and it won’t let go of me!””

“Concentration”

“After winning several archery contests, the young and rather boastful champion challenged a Zen master who was renowned for his skill as an archer. The young man demonstrated remarkable technical proficiency when he hit a distant bull’s eye on his first try, and then split that arrow with his second shot. “There,” he said to the old man, “see if you can match that!”

Undisturbed, the master did not draw his bow, but rather motioned for the young archer to follow him up the mountain. Curious about the old fellow’s intentions, the champion followed him high into the mountain until they reached a deep chasm spanned by a rather flimsy and shaky log. Calmly stepping out onto the middle of the unsteady and certainly perilous bridge, the old master picked a far away tree as a target, drew his bow, and fired a clean, direct hit. “Now it is your turn,” he said as he gracefully stepped back onto the safe ground. Staring with terror into the seemingly bottomless and beckoning abyss, the young man could not force himself to step out onto the log, no less shoot at a target.

“You have much skill with your bow,” the master said, sensing his challenger’s predicament, “but you have little skill with the mind that lets loose the shot.””

The Abundance Principle :

Once a man got lost in a desert. The water in his flask had run out two days ago, and he was on his last legs. He knew that if he didn’t get some water soon, he would surely die. The man saw a small hut ahead of him. He thought it would be a mirage or maybe a hallucination, but having no other option, he moved toward it. As he got closer, he realized it was quite real. So he dragged his tired body to the door with the last of his strength.

The hut was not occupied and seemed like it had been abandoned for quite some time. The man entered into it, hoping against hope that he might find water inside.

His heart skipped a beat when he saw what was in the hut – a water hand pump…… It had a pipe going down through the floor, perhaps tapping a source of water deep under-ground.

He began working the hand pump, but no water came out. He kept at it and still nothing happened. Finally he gave up from exhaustion and frustration. He threw up his hands in despair. It looked as if he was going to die after all.

Then the man noticed a bottle in one corner of the hut. It was filled with water and corked up to prevent evaporation.

He uncorked the bottle and was about to gulp down the sweet life-giving water, when he noticed a piece of paper attached to it. Handwriting on the paper read : “Use this water to start the pump. Don’t forget to fill the bottle when you’re done.”

He had a dilemma. He could follow the instruction and pour the water into the pump, or he could ignore it and just drink the water.

What to do? If he let the water go into the pump, what assurance did he have that it would work? What if the pump malfunctioned? What if the pipe had a leak? What if the underground reservoir had long dried up?

But then… maybe the instruction was correct. Should he risk it? If it turned out to be false, he would be throwing away the last water he would ever see.

Hands trembling, he poured the water into the pump. Then he closed his eyes, said a prayer, and started working the pump.

He heard a gurgling sound, and then water came gushing out, more than he could possibly use. He luxuriated in the cool and refreshing stream. He was going to live!

After drinking his fill and feeling much better, he looked around the hut. He found a pencil and a map of the region. The map showed that he was still far away from civilization, but at least now he knew where he was and which direction to go.

He filled his flask for the journey ahead. He also filled the bottle and put the cork back in. Before leaving the hut, he added his own writing below the instruction: “Believe me, it works!”

This story is all about life. It teaches us that We must GIVE before We can RECEIVE Abundantly.

More importantly, it also teaches that FAITH plays an important role in GIVING.

The man did not know if his action would be rewarded, but he proceeded regardless.

Without knowing what to expect, he made a Leap of Faith.

The Potter and the Clay

“The story is told of a couple who went to England to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and shopped at a beautiful antique store. They both liked antiques and pottery, and especially tea-cups,and so spotting an exceptional cup, they asked “May we see that? We’ve never seen a cup quite so beautiful.”

As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the tea-cup spoke… “You don’t understand.” It said, “I have not always been a tea-cup. There was a time when I was just a lump of red clay. My master took me and rolled me pounded and patted me over and over and I yelled out, Don’t do that. I don’t like it! “Let me alone,” but he only smiled, and gently said; “Not yet!!” “Then, WHAM! I was placed on a spinning wheel and suddenly I was spun around and around and around. “Stop it! I’m getting so dizzy! I’m going to be sick!” I screamed.

But the master only nodded and said, quietly; ‘Not yet.’ He spun me and poked and prodded and bent me out of shape to suit himself and then…he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I yelled and knocked and pounded at the door. “Help! Get me out of here!” ‘Not yet.’ When I thought I couldn’t bear it another minute, the door opened. He carefully took me out and put me on the shelf, and I began to cool. Oh, that felt so good! “Ah, this is much better,” I thought.

But, after I cooled he picked me up and he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible.. “Oh, please, Stop it! Stop it!” I cried. He only shook his head and said. “Not yet…” Then suddenly he put me back into the oven. Only it was not like the first time. This time it was twice as hot and I just knew I would suffocate. I begged… I pleaded… I screamed…I cried… I was convinced I would never make it. I was ready to give up and just then the door opened and he took me out and again placed me on the shelf, where I cooled and waited and waited, wondering “What’s he going to do to me next?”

An hour later he handed me a mirror and said “Look at yourself.” And I did… I said, “That’s not me, that couldn’t be me. It’s beautiful. I’m beautiful!” Quietly he spoke: “I want you to remember, then,” he said, “I know it hurt to be rolled and pounded and patted, but had I just left you alone, you’d have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. “I know it hurt and it was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn’t put you there, you would have cracked. I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn’t done that, you never would have hardened. You would not have had any color in your life.

“And if I hadn’t put you back in that second oven, you wouldn’t have survived for long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. Now you are what I had in mind when I first began with you.””

An elephant took a bath in a river and was walking on the road. When it neared a bridge, it saw a pig fully soaked in mud coming from the opposite direction. The elephant quietly moved to one side, allowed the dirty pig to pass and then continued its onward journey.

The unclean pig later spoke to its friends in arrogance, “See how big I am; even the elephant was afraid of me and moved to one side to let me pass”.

On hearing this, some elephants questioned their friend, the reason for its action. Was it out of fear?

The elephant smiled and replied, “I could have easily crushed the pig under my leg, but I was clean and the pig was very dirty. By crushing it, my leg will become dirty and I wanted to avoid it. Hence, I moved aside.”

This story reveals :
Realized souls will avoid contact with negativity not out of fear, but out of desire to keep away from impurity though they are strong enough to destroy the impurity.

You need not react to every opinion, every comment, or every situation.

Kick the drama and keep going ahead

Life is Like a Cup of Coffee

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite – telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: “If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups have been taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups… And then you began eyeing each other’s cups.

Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of life we live.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee.

Savor the coffee, not the cups!

The happiest people don’t have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.”

Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and that she didn’t know how she was going to make it. She was tired of fighting and struggling all the time. It seemed just as one problem was solved, another one soon followed.

Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot, and ground coffee beans in the third pot.

He then let them sit and boil, without saying a word to his daughter. The daughter, moaned and impatiently waited, wondering what he was doing. After twenty minutes he turned off the burners.

He took the potatoes out of the pot and placed them in a bowl. He pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. He then ladled the coffee out and placed it in a cup. Turning to her he asked. “Daughter, what do you see?”

“Potatoes, eggs, and coffee,” she hastily replied. “Look closer,” he said, “and touch the potatoes.”

She did and noted that they were soft. He then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, he asked her to sip the coffee. Its rich aroma brought a smile to her face.

“Father, what does this mean?” she asked. He then explained that the potatoes, the eggs and coffee beans had each faced the same adversity– the boiling water. However, each one reacted differently.

The potato went in strong, hard, and unrelenting, but in boiling water, it became soft and weak. The egg was fragile, with the thin outer shell protecting its liquid interior until it was put in the boiling water. Then the inside of the egg became hard. However, the ground coffee beans were unique. After they were exposed to the boiling water, they changed the water and created something new.

“Which are you,” he asked his daughter.

“When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond?

Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean? “

Conclusion :

In life, things happen around us, things happen to us, but the only thing that truly matters is what happens within us.
